SIAL Shanghai will return to the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 18–20 May 2027 as international food and beverage businesses continue to look towards China and the wider Asian market for growth.

Since its launch in China in 2000, SIAL Shanghai has developed into one of Asia’s major food and beverage sourcing events, connecting international producers with importers, distributors, retailers, hospitality buyers and other trade professionals.

For beer companies, the value of SIAL Shanghai extends beyond simple product exhibition.

China remains one of the world’s most important beer markets, but the competitive landscape is evolving. Premiumisation, imported products, stronger beers, new flavours and changing consumer preferences are creating opportunities beyond mass-market lager.

That makes trade exhibitions increasingly important for overseas brands seeking local importers and distribution partners.

SIAL says its Shanghai platform connects more than 180,000 food and beverage professionals from 125 countries and regions, including decision-makers from importing, distribution, retail and HoReCa businesses. Its broader exhibition proposition encompasses thousands of international products and suppliers.

For beer exporters, SIAL Shanghai therefore represents an opportunity to meet businesses capable of navigating a market where local distribution, regulatory understanding and the right regional partnerships can be critical.

The next SIAL Shanghai will take place from 18–20 May 2027 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
